A dedicated fellowship for bishops elect and ordained bishops, united in teaching, pastoral care and service.

About the College

United with the Papacy.

Bible held for study and reflection

A shared calling to lead and serve.

The Church Founders College of Bishops is the body of bishops elect and all ordained bishops united with the Papacy (the Global Bishop) as its head.

Within its ecclesial framework, its primary function is to exercise supreme, full and universal authority, teaching and pastoral governance over the global Church of Christ.

Core responsibilities

Teaching. Governance. Pastoral care.

01

Universal governance

Within the College’s governance framework, the bishops act together with, and never without, the Papacy in exercising authority over the worldwide Church of the Independent Missionaries.

02

Ecumenical councils

The College exercises its supreme authority in a solemn manner when gathered together in an Ecumenical Council.

03

Doctrinal teaching

The College teaches and safeguards the faith and morals of the Church, with the responsibility to definitively declare revealed truths.

04

Apostolic succession

The College continues the mission, witness and structural role of the original ancient College of the Apostles.

05

Particular churches

Individual members manage pastoral care and leadership within their assigned local dioceses.

06

Collaborative action

Members work through united global cooperation, synods and episcopal conferences, even when they are not physically in one location.
